Time for change!

Rotuman Language Week 2023. Look at the results when you search for Rotuman books in Auckland Libraries. Ay? Not even one children’s book! Imagine growing up and never seeing yourself in books in the library. That changes this week! I’ve been working with Rotuman families and together we’ve made a bilingual book for children celebrating their culture, stories, and every day life. Not only is this book for children – children wrote it! And there’s a lot more to come too from these talented Rotuman pioneers!
