He Wāhi Manarū – A Magical Place
Waiohua iwi Ngāti Tamaoho, Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua and Te Aakitai Waiohua are returning te reo Māori
to the whenua (land) through the naming of parks and reserves in Ōtara.
Students from Tangaroa College worked with local teacher and writer David Riley to write this pukapuka,
He Wāhi Manarū, which celebrates the stories, people and events these names acknowledge.
