A presentation on the importance of reading, of how reading can change your life!

The presentation includes:

  • stories of two people whose lives were changed through reading
  • how the All Blacks and other sportspeople read as part of their jobs
  • ideas of things students can read, especially if they’re reluctant readers

“I can tell you that it was a very moving experience. David has such a rare gift in the way he is able to connect with the boys (almost all of whom lack confidence, not only in reading but in many other aspects of their lives) and make them feel valued as young men who, whether they themselves can see it or not, are full of potential.”

David Williams. Hamilton Boys High School

“On the Monday after the session, students were more focussed on reading than previously, which has continued – they are now more aware of the importance of reading for their future.”

Adele Anderson. Kerikeri High School

“One of our year 10 boys’ classes went to a session at the National Library where David was a speaker.  They were SO ENTHUSED.  The National Library let the boys loose in the shelves and they came back with two huge boxes of books and were absolutely buzzing.”
