Wahine Toa

Today I was blessed to interview Dr Karlina Tongotea who is not only a doctor but a world champion power lifter! Lina is South Auckland- raised and comes from Māori (Ngāpuhi and Ngāi Tahu) and Tongan heritage. It was so inspiring to hear her stories and I can’t wait to share them in a new book I’m making about Karlina. Listening to podcasts where she talks about the links between physical and mental health encouraged me to join a gym and I can’t believe I’ve been waking up at 5.30am to go for runs!
