Rugby League World Cup Literacy
One thing I noticed from going to the Pacific Champs league games was how many children and young people were at the games repping their national teams. I saw Tongan children chanting the words of the Sipi Tau and Samoan children doing the same with the Siva Tau. This really inspired me to think of ways to use kids’ love of their cultures and league to help them with their literacy – so my goal is to make a lot of books that are league-themed to help kids with their reading. Here’s a first look at the first book I’m making which is about Brian To’o of Toa Sāmoa. The illustrator is Chad Robertson.
