Tau Tala Fakataitai ha Esopa tells 21 of Aesop’s famous stories in a way that children today will enjoy. The stories are written in vagahau Niue and English so children can learn and have fun with both languages. Also included are fun activities that get children drawing and writing their own fables.
Today ‘Alisi Tatafu and I launched our children’s book Rise of the To’a (the MMT story) online in Tonga. We would have been there if it wasn’t for COVID but there’s still so much to be thankful for, especially learning how beautiful Tongan culture is through this whole process.
Today we launched a new book called Hood Heroes, written and illustrated by children at Flat Bush School, Ōtara. They’re known for their rugby but young men at Hastings Boys’ High School are readers too. It was inspiring sharing with them today as part of a Read NZ Writers in Schools visit.
I’ve been doing a project with these Writing Warriors from Dawson Primary School in Ōtara. We’re making a pukapuka together in which they star as superheroes. These tamariki are creative, clever, imaginative, inspiring!
